Black Moon Lilith and sexuality

Black Moon Lilith and sexuality

Let’s strip her from being called ‘Lilith’ for a moment.

Mythology aside, what makes the Black Moon a sexual indicator?

The Black Moon is nothing but a moment in the Moon's orbit. It is not different from the Moon, it is one of her many facets.

The Moon doesn’t only symbolise tenderly caring women or lovely innocent children. There is a wild side.

At the exciting beginning, the Moon is the fertile female. Wolves howl to her, cartoons show them with their eyeballs popping out of their sockets.

I know. We would like a very neat astrological order, where planets'meanings don’t overlap. Isn’t Venus the sexy one?

Let’s not forget. The Moon symbolises the feminine, and the Sun the masculine. They are like Yin and Yang: everything else can only reflect particular combinations of the fundamental duality. Venus blends solar light and lunar instincts in her own particular way.

The Moon is feminine. Don’t take her for granted. She is able to become distant. She may even leave. You’ll remember how precious her embrace was, when she’s gone. The black moon indicates the direction of the Moon when she goes away.

Paradoxically,

‘Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone, it’s not warm when she’s away, ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone, and she’s always gone too long any time she’s gone away…’ (You know the song? I love it, especially sung by Joe Cocker)

The Moon is more than desired, she is needed. When she’s gone, ain’t no sunshine and worse: ain’t no earth under our feet.

The Black Moon is the second focal point of the orbit of the Moon. The first one is the earth. The second one is nothing. The void.

Sexual desire is not motivated by youth, health and beauty only. We’re wanting what we feel is missing. We want the earth that is not there. When we see that in someone, it cuts deep.

When we were a child, the one who was at times there and at times not was mother. I have already written about it here.

Imagine a goat jumping over the void. It’s  young and scared, it’s its first jump, and the mother goat is already on the other side. It can be horrible but it can also be the beginning of self reliance.

The young goat has no choice. As humans we may refuse to jump and turn down the power that could be ours. We may jump though. We may experience an initiation.

The position of Black Moon Lilith in sign, house and through the planets it conjuncts tells us about the qualities or life situations associated with this void. It’s not all about sexuality. Sexuality is definitely inspired by it.

Some may claim that we are perfect and complete as ourselves. That may be true spiritually. It’s definitely not true biologically. Psychologically and sexually, we’re closer to biology than spirit.

If someone has their black moon lilith in conjunction with a natal planet of yours, you’re likely to feel the challenge. It may be stressful and it may lead you to express the potential of the planet. And you may at some point rebel and reject them. You may, nothing is set in stone.

The black moon person, on the other hand, is likely to see something they miss in the way you express the planet - which is why they’ll want more of it, and they want it perfect, if possible, thank you.
